Meet Bill – Founder of Wemco Tool
Founded in 1977 by Bill Miller, Wemco Tool was built on a foundation of precision, integrity, and strong family-oriented values. With a lifelong career in the tool and die industry, Bill set out to create a company dedicated to delivering top-quality service with a personal touch.
Bill has worked across many areas of the tool and die industry. After completing an internship with Talon Industries, he joined Pennsylvania Tool and Gages, where he spent 15 years refining his craft. He began as a toolmaker and advanced into roles as a senior estimator and manager—though he’s always considered himself a toolmaker at heart.
Under Bill’s leadership, Wemco Tool has earned a reputation for excellence. Quality, efficiency, and precision aren’t just part of our process—they’re the hallmarks of our work and the trademarks of our name.
Bill’s commitment to the industry extends beyond his own business. He has served as President of the National Tooling and Machining Association and played a key role in mentoring the next generation of professionals through a comprehensive apprenticeship program. He’s also been a dedicated contributor to the Tool and Die competitions through the Vocational Clubs of America, inspiring young talent to pursue careers in skilled trades.
Outside the shop, Bill is an adventurer at heart. He and his family have traveled extensively throughout the United States and across the globe—including Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tahiti. In 1987, he even marked one of his more daring accomplishments by taking part in one of the first commercial bungee jumps in Skippers Canyon, New Zealand.
